Crude Oil Pipeline from Thessaloniki to Skopje

The project concerns the construction of a 16” underground crude oil steel pipeline (API 5L-X60, design pressure 102 Barg) rated to transport 2.5 million tones per year of various crude oils from HEL.PE.-T.I.C. refinery at Thessaloniki to OKTA refinery at Skopje. Pipeline system includes fifteen (15) remote controlled block valve stations along the route, two (2) pipeline terminals with facilities of pumping (3 main line pumps), flow metering, pressure / flow control, pig launching and receiving, impressed current cathodic protection system, SCADA and control system, telecommunication system, leak detection system and ESD system.

  • EPC contractor’s project management during design / engineering phase
  • Time & cost planning, scheduling and control, reporting
  • Permits acquisition in both countries
  • Basic design review
  • Tender documents preparation for consultancy and design subcontracts, subcontracting
  • Coordination and review of the seismic, geological and geotechnical studies, environmental impact assessment study, risk assessment study and survey engineering elaborated by design subcontractors in both countries
  • Detailed design / engineering of pipeline and all associated civil / structural works, mechanical and electrical installations, instrumentation / automation systems
  • As built drawings, mechanical catalogues, operating manuals
  • Emergency response plan
  • Commissioning, performance tests and start up assistance
