Brief Project Description
The Trans Adriatic Pipeline is part of the Southern Gas Corridor, transporting natural gas to Europe from the Shah Deniz II field in Azerbaijan. Connecting with the Trans Anatolian Pipeline at the Greek-Turkish border, TAP crosses Northern Greece, Albania and the Adriatic Sea before coming ashore in Southern Italy to connect to the Italian natural gas network.
TAP in Greece begins at Kipoi, at the border with Turkey, extends across the country, to exit at the border with Albania, south-west of Ieropigi.

- Total Pipeline length: 877 km appr. (772 km Onshore – 105 km Offshore).
- Pipeline length in Greece: 550 km appr.
- Pipeline diameter onshore in Greece: 48’’.
- Greece: 1 Compressor Station.
- Greece: 23 Block Valve Stations.
- Initial capacity: 10 bcm/year.
- Greece: the standard width of the construction corridor is about 38 meters.
