Brief Project Description

The EastMed Pipeline Project, is an offshore/onshore energy infrastructure that will connect East Mediterranean energy resources (offshore gas reserves in Israel and Cyprus) to nearby European energy system via Cyprus, Crete and mainland Greece.  In conjunction with the Poseidon Pipeline Project involving Greece and Italy, the EastMed Pipeline Project will enhance the security of energy supply for Mediterranean and south-eastern European countries.

The EastMed Pipeline Project (and the Poseidon Pipeline Project) are listed among the “Projects of Common Interest (PCI)” for their contribution to European Union energy targets.

IGI Poseidon shareholders: Edison S.p.A (50%), DEPA International Projects S.A. (50%).

The pipeline and its components have been also designed for operation with up to 100% Hydrogen according to ASME B31.12.
