In an impeccable event in Ptolemaida, DESFA inaugurated the High-Pressure Natural Gas Pipeline to Western Macedonia. This is considered a “landmark project of strategic importance that marks a new era for the development and energy transition” of the region.

It is the first pipeline in Greece and among the first in Europe to be fully compatible with the transportation of up to 100% hydrogen, rendering this project fully aligned with national and European decarbonization goals (DESFA Press Release 26/05/2026).

With a total length of approximately 157 kilometers, the pipeline stretches from Trikala in Imathia to the greater Ptolemaida area, while branch lines connect key regions across Central and Western Macedonia.

C&M Engineering provided engineering services from the onset of the project through to its construction phase, specifically including :

• Basic Engineering Design for the “NNGTS Pipeline to West Macedonia” (2021).
• Detailed Engineering Design and EIA Study for the “High Pressure Pipeline to West Macedonia” (2024).
• Technical Support & Advisory Services to DESFA during Construction Works (2026).
