Brief Project Description
The project involves the construction of a 100% H₂ pipeline from Amyntaio to Komnina for the injection of green hydrogen, which will be produced in Amyntaio, into the Western Macedonia pipeline branch, where it will be blended with natural gas to supply the Combined Heat and Power Generation district heating unit (CHP I ΣΗΘΥΑ).
The project is part of a broader collaboration of DESFA S.A. with Hellenic Hydrogen S.A., responsible for a dedicated hydrogen production facility. It is considered a milestone toward integrating renewable hydrogen into DESFA’s infrastructure, supporting the energy transition and the decarbonization of Greece’s gas network.
