Brief Project Description

SUSTAINABLE ENERGY SOLUTIONS S.A. is proceeding with the construction of two (2) Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) in Theves, Boeotia in Central Greece.

a) A BESS at “HARAINTINI 1” location (Theves, Boeotia).

b) A BESS at “HARAINTINI 2” location (Theves, Boeotia).

Located in Boeotia in Central Greece, the BESSs shall be connected to the System via new MV Switchgears, new step-up transformers, the existing G.I.S. S/S of “HERON” and the existing overhead 150 kV transmission line “Panorama Dervenohorion P20 – Distomo HVC P80”, heavy duty (2B/150 kV) with “input – output” connection scheme.

Each BESS contains batteries of Li-ion technology.

KEY PROJECT DATA

  • BESS with a maximum injection power of 12 MW and a maximum absorption power of 13.5 MW, with a guaranteed (useful) capacity of 24 MWh (“HARAINTINI 1” location).
  • BESS with a maximum injection power of 150 MW implemented in three (3) stages, where the guaranteed (useful) capacity will be 150 MW 2 + 2 + 2 hours, respectively (“HARAINTINI 2” location).
