Thermoilektriki Komotinis Power Plant
876 MW – Komotini Combined Cycle Power Plant in Eastern Macedonia & Thrace, Greece.
Brief Project Description
Thermoilektriki Komotinis S.A., a joint venture company of GEK TERNA and Motor Oil Hellas (50%-50%) is proceeding with the installation of a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) Power Plant in the wider area of Komotini, Greece.
The Facility will be located on the designated Industrial Area of Komotini approximately 7,5 km east of the town of Komotini in Eastern Macedonia and Thrace in Greece.
The Power Plant consists of one industrial gas turbine generator (GTG), one heat recovery steam generator (HRSG) and one steam turbine generator (STG) with a nominal power output of up to 876.6 MW at site conditions. The gas turbine will use natural gas as a primary and sole fuel. The electrical output of the Facility will be transmitted to the 400 kV, 50 Hz Grid System from one generator step-up transformer. This will require, as part of this project, to build a new switchyard in the form of a GIS.
