IGI - Poseidon Pipeline Onshore H₂ Ready
Front End Engineering & Design and Permitting for the Onshore Section of the Poseidon Pipeline Project.
Brief Project Description
The Poseidon Pipeline Project overall length is 978 Km consisting of the Onshore Section (Kipoi-Florovouni/Thesprotia in Greece) and the Offshore Section (Florovouni-Otranto in Italy).
Initially the system is designed for a throughput of 15.45 BSCM/Y (Phase 1), with the possibility to be increased up to 20 BSCM/Y (Phase 2). During the first phase, 15.45 BSCM/Y of natural gas will enter the system near Kipoi, and an off-take is foreseen in Komotini. The flow rate from downstream Komotini to Otranto in Italy will be 12.29 BSCM/Y. During the second phase a maximum flow rate of 20 BSCM/Y is delivered at Otranto in Italy.
Project Owner is IGI Poseidon S.A., a 50-50% Joint Venture between DEPA International Projects S.A. and Edison S.p.A.
The pipeline and its components have been also designed for operation with up to 100% Hydrogen according to ASME B31.12.
